It was such a pleasure working with past clients Libby and Brandon on this vintage-styled editorial. I photographed their beautiful wedding in Dallas, Tx almost 5 years ago, which was all-the-more special, because Brandon had been overseas in the Navy for much of their relationship. At the time of this spring wedding session, these two lovebirds had only been reunited about 6 months, making the love you see in their eyes in every photo that much more real. It was such a special treat to take these photos for them.

Of course, these two were the stars of the show, but the 1954 baby blue Buick Skylark sure gave them a run for their money. ;) I spotted this car in my neighborhood, and after (literally) years of dreaming about this shoot, I finally got the nerve to ask Rob, the owner, if we could use it for a photoshoot. To my pleasant surprise, he happily said yes and drove it all the way out to Quinlan, Tx. I was finally able to get these images out of my head and into reality!

All of the pretty little details of this shoot totally completed the look. The robin’s egg blue table linens tied in perfectly to the color of the vintage getaway car, and the bride’s unique dress, with gold beading and intricate details, complimented the vintage vibe of the shoot. The stunning floral displays were exactly what we needed for some spring wedding inspiration. So much work went into this, but I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Thank you to all the vendors who were so generous with your time and talent. It wouldn’t have happened without you all!

More on the inspiration of this shoot from Dallas wedding planner extraordinaire, Karli Jones:

“Our venue, The White Sparrow, provided an incredible blank canvas to make our own. This barn, perfectly nestled along the outskirts of Dallas, provides the feeling of a grand reception while still maintaining the integrity of a quaint, country barn. The bright, neutral space perfectly accommodated our color palette of deep pinks, blush, bold and pale yellows, and cream. Jenny McCann captured the setting effortlessly through the use of film. From the grainy, black and white boudoir session to the bright, ethereal sunset shots, Jenny perfectly told the story of Brandon and Elizabeth, a couple who were married just before the groom was called to duty for the U.S. Military. We + You provided the lush, stunning floral display. The asymmetrical garland full of blooms was strung across the White Sparrow Barn doors to make a sweet ceremony setup, and their cascading bridal bouquet gave the perfect nod to the 50’s. The stationery suite provided by Blue Eye Brown Eye gave us so many fun details to play with. From the watercolor escort cards with loose, scripty calligraphy to the custom signature drink menu, Blue Eye Brown Eye added an entirely different element of fun and color. We were thrilled to feature a stunning vintage gown from Gossamer. The gold beading and intricate details made this dress so truly unique. This gown was perfectly accessorized with a gorgeous vintage flower-diamond ring from Trumpet & Horn. This shoot was conceptualized on the simple thought of a classic car, but truly showcased the timeless love between our couple. Each and every detail helped to combine effortless fun with elements of luxury. I can’t thank this group of vendors enough for their amazing contributions!”
