goin’ to the chapel

marriage

the blog

When Kyle and Christie asked me to photograph their wedding at Little Chapel in the Woods, I must admit I was hesitant to say yes. The only windows in the chapel are stained glass and it is DARK, even midday. As an outdoor, natural light kinda gal, I knew this venue would be a challenge for me but “no pain, no gain”, right? Personally, physically, professionally, spiritually, photographically speaking, if you want to grow, you must push yourself out of your comfort zone. I try to apply this logic in all areas of my life, so I accepted the challenge and, if I may say so myself, knocked it out of the park!

This is Kyle & Christie’s little munchkin, Nate. He is hilarious, people! And was so, so proud of his parents that day. He also had THE coolest boutonniere I have ever seen. Look closely…those are Lego flowers!

The ceremony was timed just right so that we had gorgeous evening light for portraits after. Now THIS light right here is my happy place. :)

Next, it was on to the Oakmont Country Club for the reception. And it’s not a party until someone breaks out a Tuxedo T-shirt! yahoo!  This was originally going to be Kyle’s ceremony attire but at the last minute he opted for a suit. Good choice. hehe. Christie’s Mother also gave the funniest speech that had everyone in stitches.

Congrats Kyle + Christie!
