If you happen to know me personally, I’m sure you know all about the loss of our beloved dog and cat last year (and probably tired of hearing about it!) I also wrote about it briefly here. They were both 13 years old and both died within a few months of each other. To say that I was devastated might be an understatement. In my mind, these two animals were just never going to die.  They had been with me so long, I couldn’t even imagine NOT having them around. But the inevitable happened and I swore off animals forever.  Never again will I have my heart ripped in half. Never again will I have to make that tough decision to end their suffering and then stand there watching as they take their last breath. Nope. No thank you.

Well, it wasn’t long before I found myself perusing petfinder.com, “just looking”. Oh, who was I kidding. I wanted… no, NEEDED another furry friend. They help lower blood pressure, you know! And how can that be a bad thing? So, with that, I’d like you to meet our new kitty, Dora. As soon as I saw this gorgeous tortoiseshell face I knew I had to meet her. The kids just love her and luckily, she loves us back. Happy Film Friday!
