Dallas Arboretum Poetry Garden Elopement
Where do I even begin with this small elopement at the Dallas Arboretum? This sweet, private ceremony took place in the Poetry Garden, a destination that these two loved so much that they came all the way from Houston to exchange their vows in it. Kelly and Khari liked the idea of it being a destination wedding, and knew they wanted to keep it small. It was just the two of them, a minister, and me! This was the first time I’ve been the only witness at a ceremony, and I was extremely honored to be in the presence of these two on such a special day.
Kelly and Khari were the sweetest couple, and every smile and laugh you see in these images is 100% genuine. they laughed the whole afternoon and must have thanked me a dozen times for such a fun day. Kelly even commented that it must be so amazing to have a job where you get to hang out with people on one of the happiest days of their life. To which I replied, Yes! Yes it IS pretty cool! Thanks for the reminder, Kelly. ; )
Though it was a wedding of few details – a nice bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne with these beautiful glasses from Anthropologie, some sweet little vow books from Etsy, and a gorgeous bouquet from A & L Floral Design – they had a perfect spring day for their intimate garden ceremony. You can’t really go wrong with the Dallas Arboretum as your backdrop either!
They hadn’t planned on having me at their AirBNB cottage to take getting ready photos, but I’m so glad I talked Kelly into it, because the beautiful black and white photos I captured of her getting ready are some of my favorites from the day.
This elopement was one I wish I could shoot over and over and over again…
