I’m excited to share this beautiful Dallas boudoir session I did for an even more beautiful bride who was so gracious for letting me create this concept and style the entire session.

This is also the perfect session to share to announce that I have made the bittersweet decision to sunset my Lifestyle and Family gallery. Photographing children and families was my first passion on this wild photography journey, so it’s certainly not goodbye forever. It’s just a pause so I can explore new art forms. Throughout my career as a photographer different genres of portraiture have “called” to me at various stages of life. In this current stage, I feel the need to simplify and focus my attention on engagements, weddings, and boudoir. Boudoir photography, especially, is BEGGING to be explored and my artist heart is so excited about this shift in focus. I hope you’ll follow along with me on this new adventure. Stick around until the end of this post for a link to my new boudoir gallery where you can see more stunning shoots like this one.

The location of this shoot was a private ranch in Gainesville, Texas. Both beautiful and sentimental – it’s the same location where this sweet bride walked down the aisle to the love of her life. (I plan to blog that wedding soon, too!) The style of this shoot was inspired by Free People which has amazing campaigns and lookbooks. Their models are always in gorgeous outdoor, natural settings, with lots of movement, lots of wind and lots of boho goodness. Just google ‘free people campaign’ and you’ll see the exact feeling I was trying to emulate.

The sheer pink top was a thrift store find – it’s actually what sparked the whole concept for this shoot! The fringe boots were mine, and the shawl was Meryl’s; apart from that, we stayed true to the theme and got everything else from Free People. Most of these items are no longer available, but even the names of the items fit so perfectly with the vibe of this shoot: “Crimson Clover Side Tie Undies, Under the Sun Novelty Flare Jeans, Among the Wildflowers Bralette, and the Morrison Felt Hat (which is still available from the hat maker here). All props go to the blushing bride for her hair and makeup!

It was raining the day we did this shoot, and we were moments away from canceling (good ol’ unpredictable Texas weather) Thankfully, the sky cleared and we had a beautiful spring day, giving us the perfect backdrop for this boho-beautiful boudoir shoot.

As promised, here is a link where you can check out my boudoir portfolio and see more shoots like this one: Jenny’s Fab New Boudoir Gallery
