Casual Lakeside Dallas Engagement Session.

I know I’ve said this before but engagement sessions are one of my favorite types of photoshoots ever. You still get the same giddy lovie dovie excited couple but at a much slower pace than the wedding day. There is literally no timeline to follow. We can do whatever we want. We can take breaks. We can change clothes or locations. We can create whatever mood or scene you want. Casual, lifestyle, formal, themed. The sky’s the limit. It’s also is an excellent time to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. Because let’s face it, unless you’re a professional model being in front of a camera is awkward. If I had a nickel for every time someone quoted Ricky Bobby “I’m not sure what to do with my hands” I’d be a rich woman. I get it. I even feel awkward when I have photos of myself taken. It’s nerve wracking. Do I look ok? How’s the hair? Please don’t make me look stupid! So, like I said, engagement sessions are the perfect way to break the ice, photographically speaking.

Kaitlin and Ryan wanted something casual and outdoorsy for their engagement session. I immediately thought of Lake Grapevine which is one of my favorite lakes to shoot at. I love the feel of these cozy photos and Kaitlin’s cute romper from Anthropologie!
