Dallas Arboretum Wedding Photography featuring Garden Ceremony
I have a wonderful Garden Ceremony to share with you that took place in the Dallas Arboretum’s sunken garden of roses called The Poetry Garden. When April contacted me, she described her dream wedding as being, “a romantic and intimate ceremony in the Poetry gardens”. She definitely achieved that, and I would add, with a bit of southern flare, too.
April chose a 1930s home in the historic Lower Greenville area as her getting ready location found on Airbnb (btw, SO much better than a hotel. Why didn’t I think of this genius idea!). The antique furniture, hard wood floors, and gorgeous natural light pouring in all added to the intimate feel she wanted.
April wore two dresses on her wedding day: a wedding gown by Vera Wang with the most perfect oversized flower sash and a beaded, feather fringe mini dress by Parker for her reception. Not to be outdone, Maxx looked dapper in his blue 3-piece suit by Suit Supply and his two adorable daughters were the flower girls.
Guests were serenaded into the Poetry garden by a violinist and encouraged to use hankies, fans and parasols to keep cool during the ceremony. At the reception, family and friends gathered in a laid back intimate setting at Sissy’s Southern Kitchen enjoying traditional Mississippi Delta cuisine. My favorite part of the day was stealing April and Maxx away for a few portraits and champagne on Sissy’s outdoor patio. I had to see more of that fantastic Parker dress!
Many thanks to D Weddings for featuring their wedding!
