I’m so excited to finally share this cabin engagement session that was recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes. Engagement sessions are one of my all time favorite things to photograph and this was an idea that had been brewing in my mind for years. – A couple enjoying a cabin retreat in the woods…just them and nature. I wanted to evoke the feeling that they were the only two people in the world. A feeling we have all felt when alone with a new love! It felt so good to work on a personal project where I was able to flex my creative chops and bring those images that had been floating around in my head to reality. And as an added bonus, this session started out as a “mock” engagement shoot for Katy and Adam but during the planning process they actually became engaged! Making this session even more special. : )
This session also serves as a perfect example to other couples to think outside the box when it comes to their own engagement photos. Every couple is different and unique and your engagement session should reflect this. An engagement session is your chance to tell YOUR love story. I want to give each couple (and myself) the ultimate photo session experience by creating something original and unique. Which is why I love to be involved in the entire planning process, from the wardrobe to helping pick out the location. I don’t want to just be a “service provider”, which is sometimes how it feels when clients don’t trust me and just show me a pinterest board to copy. You hired ME to create beautiful, artistic images. Well, let me create! Trust your photographer!
